Safety rules
The term ‘safety’ covers a variety of aspects, such as occupational health and safety, product safety, building security, etc. To safeguard occupational health and safety at the Innovation Centre, the work areas are divided into zones. All employees and visitors are obliged to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) prescribed for each zone.

Detailed hygiene regulations apply in all areas in which food is prepared, processed or handled. The local and regional guidelines contain detailed provisions on hygiene, as does the FDHA’s Hygiene Ordinance. To guarantee hygiene in the application labs, the work areas are divided into hygiene zones. The hygiene regulations laid down for each zone apply to not only lab personnel, but also visitors (both internal and external) and maintenance and cleaning staff.
Zones | Hygiene regulations |
---|---|
Low hygiene zone = food material and food contact material storage areas

Medium hygiene zone = sluices, offices connected to food production areas
