Givaudan announces changes to Executive Committee

  • Joe Fabbri, Head of Global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Sustainability to retire from the Executive Committee
  • Simon Halle-Smith, Head of Global Human Resources, becomes responsible for EHS
  • Willem Mutsaerts, Head of Global Procurement, becomes responsible for Sustainability

Givaudan is pleased to announce changes to its Executive Committee (EC) in line with the Company’s succession planning.

Following a distinguished career spanning almost three decades with Givaudan and leading up to his current role as Head of Global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Sustainability, Joe Fabbri will retire from the Executive Committee as of 30 June 2017; Joe will remain employed until the end of 2017 to ensure a smooth transition and consult on strategic projects.

Effective immediately, Simon Halle-Smith, Head of Global Human Resources, and Willem Mutsaerts, Head of Global Procurement, both EC members since 2015, will be responsible respectively for EHS and Sustainability.

Joe Fabbri joined Givaudan in 1989 in Flavours Operations Canada and evolved within operations through multiple acquisitions and projects leading up to the successful integration of Quest in 2007. Joe became a member of the Executive Committee in 2008, taking on responsibility for Global Human Resources. During his tenure in this role he launched the new HR Strategy and created the Company’s successful HR Business Partner concept. His accomplishments also include the launch of Givaudan’s first global EHS strategy and sustainability strategy in 2009, and leading the Purchasing IM&S organisation through a transformational redesign in 2011.  

As Head of Global Human Resources, Simon Halle-Smith will continue to focus on making Givaudan a great place to work while carrying on the company-wide EHS commitment of ‘Everyone Home Safe Every Day’.

As Head of Global Procurement, Willem Mutsaerts will lead sustainability and continue to develop innovative sourcing strategies, further enhance Givaudan’s responsible sourcing programme, secure the long-term supply of critical raw materials and foster partnerships with suppliers.
