As the global leader in the fragrance and flavour industry, and one of its largest buyer of raw materials, meeting the needs of the present without compromising the future is integral to the delivery of our business strategy.

Our comprehensive Sustainability programme is integral to the way we operate – driving sustainability principles right across our value chain. It is based on a five-pillar strategy extending across the full life-cycle of our business:

Our Sustainability agenda is owned by our Executive Committee and driven by our Sustainability Steering Team, supported by internal specialists in corporate responsibility and sustainability, and in consultation with our stakeholders. We are a signatory to the UN Global Compact and its principles are embedded in our business processes.

We report on our progress annually and our practices are informed by our Key Principles of Sustainability. Our 2012 Sustainability Report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3.1 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines to B+ Level. It was checked by GRI and externally assured by Ernst & Young.

Our achievements in 2012 including the inspirational work carried out by our grass roots Green Teams has shown us that our Sustainability programme is truly delivering continuous improvement across our business – and beyond.
