VISION

It is our common objective to further develop Givaudan's leading position in the fragrance and flavour industry and deliver value to our customers and shareholders. Operating a sustainable business model has already been part of Givaudan's business strategy during the past years – and a fully-fledged sustainable development programme will provide the right framework for our future success.

Our teams have developed a long-term Sustainability vision which is based on five ambitious strategic pillars, underpinned by our core value passion. The work on defining our vision was supported by the scientifically-backed framework, developed by The Natural Step International. 

Within this framework, nature is not subject to systematically increasing:

  • Concentrations of substances extracted from the earth’s crust (heavy metals, fossil-based fuels)
  • Concentrations of substances produced by society (PCBs, CFCs etc.)
  • Degradation by physical means (deforestation)

And in that society

  • People are not subject to conditions that systematically undermine their capacity to meet their needs

Based on this framework, Givaudan developed for each of its five pillars clear long-term aspirations and strategies. We are working on developing corresponding key performance indicators on which we will start to report.
