Coming from a Grassoise family that has been immersed in the industry for generations, perfumery is in Jean Guichard's blood.

An idyllic childhood in Grasse, gave him the opportunity to discover the diverse and luxurious Mediterranean vegetation that was to inspire him in the future. Indeed, Jean's roots in Grasse remain so strong to this day that he has the distinction of being the only French perfumer to grow his own Rose de Mai and Jasmine.

After having begun his career in Grasse, he went to London and then to Paris before joining the creative team at Givaudan in the 1980s. Jean won the François Coty award in 2000, a prize given to 'artistes parfumeurs' in recognition of their achievements in the field, and was made also a member of the 'Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres'.

Jean Guichard has been the director of the Perfumery School since 2004. It is the base from which this gentle man shares shares his passion, his expertise and his technical knowledge with the perfumers of the future, colleagues, journalists and clients.
